About A lot of Ltd

Background

Andrea Clifford and Mike Jessop are the founders of A lot of Ltd. They both worked in IT and would often sit and discuss ideas for web sites, only to see these developed by other people. In December 2000 they decided to forge ahead and finally set up a company.

Although A lot of Ltd initially developed some sites for other people, their goal was to develop a series of their own web sites.

Both Andrea and Mike have strong views regarding ethics, the environment and eating organically. At the time the company was created it was very difficult to find organic, ethical and environmentally companies on the Internet. This lead to the creation of A lot of Organics. A web site designed as a search engine to bring you a list of web sites that offer organic, ethical, environmentally friendly or special diet produce. Building on the success of this site they developed A lot of Coffee, a site offering organic and fair trade coffee. Followed by A lot of Chocolate, offering organic, special diet and fair trade chocolate.

About Us

ANDREA CLIFFORD
Managing Director

Has a mixed background. After leaving University with a degree in Computer Science and Psychology she spent the next 5 years at a charity, working in the Challenge Department. Not only did she work her way up to be Marketing Manager for the Challenge Department but she also had sole responsibility for the charities web site, from design to coding. Using these skills she then went into the commercial world where she had to implement an intranet and was responsible for two other web sites. She is therefore, able to differentiate between the needs of a commercial web site to that of a charity.

MIKE JESSOP
Technical Director

Mike left university with a degree in Computer Science and was working soley in the computer industry until 2000. His main expertise lies in software security and encryption. He codes in C, C++, PHP, HTML and mySQL amongst other languages.
